I was voted "Best Kids' Yoga Teacher" by LA Weekly!

I have always been a teacher -- even when I worked in television, I developed and created children's programming. My career began as
a media arts and literacy teacher, then I worked as an early childhood educator, and now, finally, as a yoga teacher.
I began teaching children yoga
nearly ten years ago, in the tradition of T.
Krishnamacharya. I have studied yoga for children and yoga therapy for
special children with Krishnamacharya’s grandson, Kausthub Desikachar
and, with Gary Kraftsow and the American Viniyoga Institute -- I am currently enrolled in AVI'S 500 hour training. (Early in my training, I studied in Pune, India with Mr. Iyengar.) I am certified to teach and train teachers at the 200 hour level.
As a contributing editor and writer for Yogi Times magazine, I have written more than a dozen "Kids on the Mat" columns on such topics as yoga and AD/HD, special yoga for special kids, childhood obesity, positive discipline, and childhood sleep disorders. (On the "News & More" page, you can download some of my articles.) I am also featured in the kids' yoga DVD Little Yoga, narrated by Gwyneth Paltrow -- due to be released soon! Prior to founding
Santa Monica based Kids' Yoga Circle in 2004, I taught at some of the Los Angeles
area’s most celebrated yoga studios. Through Kids’ Yoga Circle, I
conduct kids’ classes and workshops, family retreats, and teacher
trainings worldwide. Kids' Yoga Circle’s Reach Out Program has been
implemented in several schools, youth centers, and children’s hospitals.
I am a registered practicing member in good standing of the International Yoga Association.
In addition, I am finishing up my master's degree in holistic counseling psychology. Of course, my focus is on children and families!
